VARI: data base of Vernacular Aristotelianism in Renaissance Italy, c. 1400-c. 1650

The database VARI DB is the result of a collaboration between the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and the research project Vernacular Aristotelianism in Renaissance Italy, c. 1400-c. 1650 promoted by the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance at the University of Warwick and devoted to the study of the vernacular diffusion of Aristotelian works in Italy between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

 

VARI DB is a searchable catalogue of records (TLIon format) related to the textual tradition of Aristotelian works in written or published in Italian between c. 1400 and c. 1650. From this page it is possible to search the database through simple searches, advanced searches as well as through the indices. Records' copyright belongs to the Authors. Each record may be updated by Authors, the Project Director and members of the editorial board. Registered users will be able to suggest corrections and additions as well as offer to be the authors of new records.
